Matthew Golay's Obituary

February 7, 2005

Golay, Matthew P.

Matthew Paul Golay, age 30, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 5, 2005. He was born in Oshkosh on June 21, 1974, to Paul and Marianne (Sanders) Golay of Appleton. Matthew was an accomplished musician, singer and songwriter whose career began in 1987 when he hocked his baseball card collection to buy his first guitar.

Since that time he has performed in hundreds of venues all across Wisconsin as a solo artist, with the Matthew Golay Band, and most recently with his good friend Dave W. Rause as "Matt's Potatoes and Davey." Countless fans that have purchased his CDs and attended his shows have enjoyed his fresh and innovative music.

Matt was proud and honored to work with such a talented group as Andy's Automatics.

Realizing the amount of effort it takes to get a musical career started, Matthew recently started a production company called Tickle My Junk Productions. Matthew's goal was to apply the lessons he learned over the years to help guide other talented artists develop their own careers. TMJ Productions rapidly gained local recognition for its efforts in promoting area musicians and Matthew himself, was a guiding light and uplifting spirit to all of the groups he worked with. He will never be forgotten for his efforts and inspiration to help others and his devotion to his faithful fans. Visit www.matthew golay.com to see highlights of his career.
